Keith's Mustache

Well, it's been a while since our last post. A lot has happened since then--Green has continued to hit, Maine has been lights out, and Delgado has been flirting with the Mendoza line. But most importantly, with Valentin's trip to the DL, the Mets are currently mustache-less. The Mandatory Mustache Ministry of Statistics is currently scouring the record books for the last time the Mets were mustache-less...I'm not sure, but my money is on sometime during the early-to-mid-90s. Yes, we've been playing well lately, but it can only last so long. At the moment, first base coach Howard Johnson is the only Met taking the field with a mustache. Now I love HoJo as much as any self-respecting Mets fan, but this just ain't gonna cut it. Who will step up and save this team?

In the meantime, we felt that we wouldn't be worth our salt as a baseball/mustache blog if we didn't at least acknowledge the existence of the SNY "Keith's Mustache" spot (pictured above). We give the ad a thumbs up, a solid B+. Good design, pretty funny, and definitely the best in this series of ads. Suggestion for next time--include Keith's fur coat and lollipop.
